If you have a slew of retail reward cards and membership cards cumbersomely squeezed onto your key chain or frequently find yourself key chain-less while trying to get into the gym, Key Ring for Android might be the solution to some of your woes.

A free download from the Android market, Key Ring will let you digitize your various and sundry pieces of plastic — letting you leave your Best Buy, CVS, Gold’s Gym, Borders (you get the idea) cards collecting dust in a dark, dusty drawer somewhere. The app supports about 150 different stores, and if the store of your choice isn’t supported you can add it manually.

Just hold the card you want to digitize steady in your phone’s viewfinder (bar code face forward, of course), and let Key Ring scan it in. You can then access that card at any time, and hand over your phone instead of your crowded key chain to receive those glorious rewards. Be sure to check out our video demo at right.
