It really doesn’t matter who you are or what kind of phone you have, banging out an epic text message or email using a virtual keyboard is never a good time. For anyone who’s ever experienced a tragic case of thumb fatigue, ShapeWriter’s virtual keyboard may let you stay in the game just a bit longer.
Instead of slowly and painfully tapping each and every key individually, why not drag over each key to quickly form a word without ever lifting up your finger? Well, such is the concept behind ShapeWriter — a concept that is surprisingly well executed.
The ShapeWriter keyboard works in any text field, and most of the time does a great job determining what word you’re going for. The app also gives you a selection of other possible words based on your swipes, and lets you easily change words with a tap.
After just a bit of practice, I was well on my way to becoming a ShapeWriter pro. While I do my best to refrain from writing novel-esque emails and text messages on my mobile phone, I certainly know where to turn when the time comes when I can’t avoid it.

Apple iPad 2 continues to retain its place in the tablet market amid stiff competition from other manufacturers. To be frank, it is creditable in itself to be at the top for so long. If iPad is still a darling of millions of tablet users worldwide, it is because of constant upgrade and a faster, better processor in iPad2 that keeps people in awe of this stunning device. However, the gap is closing and many new tablets are fast catching up with Apple in terms of technology and features. A recent one to enter the market is the Huawei MediaPad, which was unveiled at the CommunicAsia 2011 in Singapore on 20 June 2011. Here’s a quick comparison of the two amazing tablets:

Pixel density of the MediaPad’s display is better than iPad2

MediaPad runs on Android 3.2 Honeycomb whereas iPad 2 runs on iOS 4.3.3

MediaPad last for continuous 6 hours of video play while iPad2 lasts for full 10 hours
