Motorola DROID 4 Unboxing and Review

The Motorola DROID 4 combines dual-core power with Verizon’s speedy 4G LTE network, and that’s a great combination. It’s also the first of the sliding-keyboard DROID series to have a non-removable battery, and it is also the first to have a special tool for taking the back off of the phone. What all comes in the box and how is the back installed and removed?

Samsung Exhibit 4G Unboxing

Last year, Samsung scored a big win with its popular Galaxy S series of cell phones. Capable and elegant, there was a different Galaxy S phone for each carrier, with the T-Mobile version known as the Samsung Vibrant (which, in turn, was updated to the Samsung Galaxy S 4G). Someone at the company must have asked, “Why not use this design in a smaller phone with a smaller screen at a smaller price?” And thus was born the Samsung Exhibit 4G. Sporting much of the technology that makes the Galaxy S phones such a pleasure to use – 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, front and rear cameras – the Exhibit 4G is updated with Android 2.3 and 4G speeds on T-Mobile’s HSPA+ network. And it’s all in a smaller, more affordable and pleasingly pocket-friendly package.

LG Revolution Unboxing

Verizon Wireless has been pouring it on in the past couple of weeks, rapidly introducing new phones. The LG Revolution is one in that recent group, but it bears special attention because it is the third phone in Verizon’s 4G line-up after the HTC ThunderBolt and the Samsung DROID Charge. Like those others, the LG Revolution has a 4.3-inch display with 480 x 800-pixel resolution, a 1GHz processor and lots of storage space for video, music and image files.

Verizon Wireless Home Phone Connect Demo

Approximately 70 percent of American homes have a traditional wired land-line phone, and a large number of these households also have cell phone accounts. Some people are concerned about cutting the cord to the home phone, thinking that a cell phone is just not as reliable as an old-fashioned twisted-pair desk phone.

Verizon Wireless took a look at the problem and came up with the Home Phone Connect – a way to use your desk phone just as you always have, with the kind of reliability you expect from a traditional wired phone. However, the Verizon Wireless Home Phone Connect actually connects using cellular technology, which means you can add the device to your existing wireless plan inexpensively, and eliminate the higher monthly cost of a standard wired home phone.

The Verizon Wireless Home Phone Connect has two connectors on the back that are compatible with standard desk/wall phones. The keys to solving the reliability puzzle include a high-gain antenna and an upgraded cellular transmitter, which is much more powerful than a typical cell phone’s transmitter. With the higher-performance antenna and more powerful internals, the Verizon Wireless Home Phone Connect can punch through when a typical cell phone might drop the call.

With the Verizon Wireless Home Phone Connect, you use your home phone as you always have: Pick it up and get a dial tone, then dial the call and hear the standard Touch-Tone beeps. You receive calls just as you always have, and your desk phone will ring in the same way that it’s done for years. You can even connect the Verizon Wireless Home Phone Connect to your home’s internal phone wiring, as long as you disconnect your home’s internal wiring from the land-line wire now leading to your home.
