Want a free phone? If luck is on your side, you can win a free smartphone in Wirefly’s Fan Frenzy Sweepstakes. The ongoing event ends on Feb. 29, 2012, with the goal being to give away up to six great new phones. It all takes play on Wirefly’s Facebook page, and the prizes get more plentiful as more people visit the page and “Like” Wirefly. Plan on telling your friends to visit Wirefly on Facebook and click the Like button as the first step in entering the Sweepstakes.
The first phone — a BlackBerry Bold — is “unlocked” when Wirefly reaches 90,000 Likes. As the number of Likes increases, more phones are unlocked and more people will win. Starting with a BlackBerry Bold, the prizes expand to include an HTC Rhyme, two Motorola DROID RAZRs and two Motorola DROID 4s. All you need to do is click on the links to see how excellent these phones are.
The first phone in the Fan Frenzy Sweepstakes gets unlocked at 90,000 Likes, which offers up the BlackBerry Bold as the prize. As the Likes climb to 95,000, it unlocks an HTC Rhyme, then two Motorola DROID RAZRs get added to the booty at 105,000 Likes. The last two phones — both Motorola DROID 4s — get unlocked when 115,000 Likes is reached. As of this writing, we are less than 2,000 Likes shy of the first goal, which should be reached in a few days. Of course, the more you spread the word, we can reach the goals faster and unlock more phones for the Sweepstakes. As it turns out, you will also increase your chances of winning if you share the Sweepstakes with your friends on Facebook.
Entering the Sweepstakes
To qualify you for winning a phone in the Sweepstakes, you must go to Wirefly’s Facebook page and click on the “Like” button near the top. If you already Liked Wirefly, you can go straight to the link to enter the Sweepstakes: As you look at the page, there is a link on the left that says “Enter to win!” Click on that link to enter the Sweepstakes. That’s it… it’s free and easy. All you have to do is “like” Wirefly, then click the link to enter the Sweepstakes.
Wirefly’s Fan Frenzy Sweepstakes closes at 3PM on Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012. At around 4PM, Wirefly will randomly choose a winner from the names of the people who have followed the steps to enter the Sweepstakes. To enter the Sweepstakes, you will need to approve running the entry app on Facebook, but you will not be asked to share your friends list or give any other information about your account. Of course, you can share the Sweepstakes with your friends if you want to — just click on the “Share” button to do that. There is no requirement to share in order to enter the Sweepstakes but keep in mind that if you share the contest with your friends and family through the application, you receive an additional entry into the Sweepstakes!
