Resetting your myTouch 3G Android phone to restore factory settings is just a few short menu clicks away. Resetting your myTouch deletes all data on the device, and the process cannot be reversed — so make sure you’ve backed up any data you don’t want to lose before continuing.

instead of going into SD Card and phone storage at step 3. MyTouch 3g user need to do the following steps.
1. press menu button.
2. Tap settings.
3. scroll down to “Privacy” not “SD Card & Phone Storage”.
4. “Factory Reset” will be at the bottom of the list here.
I hope this helps a lot of MyTouch 3g users. All other directions of performing this reset on the net are wrong.

this does not work. Step 4 say tap “Factory data reset”, maybe it would work if it were an option, but it is not an option on my phone.
