The HTC EVO 4G has been a runaway success for Sprint, putting the carrier in the forefront of the Android revolution. For months, the strong performance, 4G networking capability and big screen of the EVO 4G made it one of the most desirable smart phones. Not only that, the EVO 4G was the first 4G phone available in the U.S., and Sprint had the 4G distinction to itself for a few months.

Verizon Wireless’ roared back with the HTC ThunderBolt, resembling the EVO 4G in many ways but pushing the technology further. The ThunderBolt was the first 4G phone on Verizon’s LTE network, and it exceeded the performance of the EVO 4G in just about every way. However, Sprint started this fight and isn’t ready to end it, so the company recently announced the HTC EVO 3D that looks to reclaim the original EVO’s thunder.

With specs that push the limits of any phone on the market today, the HTC EVO 3D just might keep Sprint at the top of the EVO wars.
