John, I haven't heard anything regarding VPN and cell phones. As far as I know, VPN stands for Virtual Private Network and it is not usually associated with cell phones. Can you be more specific?

I have been reading that VPN is really necessary on mobile phones now. Can you recommend a good program and associated cost?

Jodi, the iPhone is a 3G device and downloads on it won't be any faster than your DROID 2. The new DROID 4 is much like the DROID 2, only the DROID 4 has 4G and it's considerably upgraded all around. An excellent deal right now for Verizon is the HTC Rezound. It has no physical keyboard, but it has a beautiful 4.3-inch display that's just about the best there is. It gets superb download speeds with Verizon's 4G and it has excellent audio features. Another good choice for you might be the Motorola DROID RAZR. The RAZR is slim and lightweight, yet has a BIG display and also 4G network speeds.

The above phones all run Android 2.3 as the operating system, which is improved over the Android 2.2 you have in the DROID 2. Also, all are expected to get an update to Android 4 in the next couple of months, and that should make them even better. I find that Android 2.3 is as easy to use as the iPhone, and Android 4 is smoother still.

One other phone to think about is the Samsung Stratosphere. It has the nicest slide-out keyboard in the business, a pretty 4-inch display and 4G connection speeds. Right now on Wirefly, the Stratosphere is free for both new accounts and upgrades, so the price can't be beat. Because of its keyboard, the Stratosphere is about as big and heavy as your DROID 2, and the Stratosphere probably won't be updated to Android 4. (It has Android 2.3.)

Hope that helps!

I have a Droid 2 and HATE it. I got it originally because it had both QWERTY and virtual keyboard, but I would give up the QWERTY for a better phone! I feel like it's difficult to use and hate the slow 3G. It takes forever to load anything! I LOVE my iPod touch because I feel that it's so user-friendly. and so would lean towards an iPhone but hate the expense, etc... that goes along with having an iPhone. Any suggestions on better, more user-friendly phones? I have Verizon.

Brittany, the WiFi sharing (also called a "mobile hotspot") is a feature that the carrier regulates. I recommend that you take your phone to a T-Mobile store to have it checked and make sure it is working correctly. If your phone is working correctly, you may have to pay extra to enable the WiFi sharing feature -- most of the carriers now charge extra for that function.

Good luck!

Duh, I'm not sure how you'd like me to help. I used a Samsung Galaxy S II for a few months (the Sprint version, called the Epic 4G Touch) and it was an excellent phone. I would personally choose it over the iPhone 4S every time, especially because of the big beautiful display. (As far as I'm concerned, the bigger the display, the better.) Despite its big display, the Galaxy S II weighs less than the iPhone. The Galaxy S II also has 4G network speeds that the iPhone can't touch... these Samsungs are MUCH faster at downloading from the carrier than any iPhone. In my months of using the Epic 4G Touch, I never came close to having the battery run out, even after a couple days of use. If battery life is a big issue for you, the Galaxy S II makes it easy to swap batteries -- you can get a spare and swap it in as needed. You can also get an extended battery and easily install it yourself.

Those are some of the reasons why the Samsung Galaxy S II are a smarter buy than an iPhone. Hope that helps!

Gama-son, I prefer the Motorola DROID Bionic to the iPhone 4S, for the following reasons: bigger display, Webtop accessories, 4G network speeds, faster processor and expandable memory. As for the iPad 2, it's hard for me to answer that part of your question. I would probably get an Android tablet over an iPad, mostly because I'm a lot more familiar with Android than iOS. I also have no iTunes files to complicate the issue. So the answer depends on just how much you expect to buy an iPad 2.

Hope that helps!

Troy, the Motorola DROID 2 Global and the Motorola DROID 3 are for Verizon and both have SIM slots for use around the world. I suggest one of those two... the DROID 3 has many improvements over the DROID 2 Global, so that will be the better of those two.

I have a Samsung galaxy s2 and my wifi sharing doesn't work anymore. Someone told me its because they no longer offer the option on prepaid plans but Tmobile had never told me that. Could you help so that I can figure out how to get the most it of this phone
