Motorola Droid vs. Motorola Devour (with video)
Key Differences
- User interface: The Devour may appeal to those heavily involved in social networking, featuring Motorola’s MOTOBLUR interface built on top of the standard Android platform. MOTOBLUR provides close integration with social networks including Facebook and Twitter, while the Droid has the standard Android interface. Of course, the Droid has access to Facebook and Twitter through applications freely available from the Android market.
- Display: The Droid has a large and high resolution display (3.7-in., WVGA 480×854 pixels), while the Devour has a somewhat smaller, lower resolution display (3.1-inch, HGVA 320×480 pixels).
- Camera: The Droid has a higher quality 5MP camera with 4x digital zoom, flash and auto focus that is also capable of capturing DVD quality video at 24 frames-per-second. The Devour has a 3MP fixed-focus camera without flash and digital zoom. The Devour’s camera is capable of capturing video at 23 frames-per-second.
- Storage Space: Right out of the box, the Droid has 16GB (upgradeable to 32GB) of on-board storage space for music, video and more. The Motorola Devour has only an 8GB microSD card pre-installed (also upgradeable to 32GB).
- Keyboard: The keyboard on the Devour is arguably a better, more usable keyboard than that on the Droid.

So, now that the Android 2.1 has been released and the Verizon sales people are useless, is Devour able to be upgraded to 2.1? I like the smooth lines and capabilities of the Devour, but I like the camera features, I could use the flash as a flashlight (like my current phone) and capabilities of the Droid. This is my dilemma, I was hoping you could help me out.
