Key Differences
- User interface: The Backflip may appeal to those heavily involved in social networking, featuring Motorola’s MOTOBLUR interface built on top of the standard Android platform. MOTOBLUR provides close integration with social networks including Facebook and Twitter, while the Droid has the standard Android interface. Of course, the Droid has access to Facebook and Twitter through applications freely available from the Android market.
- Design: The Motorola Backflip features a a unique form factor, with a keyboard that flips from behind and a touch-sensitive trackpad (similar to that on a laptop) behind the display for enhanced navigation. The Droid has a more traditional design with a a sliding physical QWERTY keyboard.
- Display: The Droid has a large and high resolution display (3.7-in., WVGA 480×85 pixels), while the Motorola Backflip has a somewhat smaller, lower resolution display (3.1-inch, 320×480 pixels).
- Storage Space: Right out of the box, the Droid has 16GB (upgradeable to 32GB) of on-board storage space for music, video and more. The Motorola Backflip is equipped with 2GB right out of the box (upgradeable to 32GB).
