Key Differences

  • Display: The Motorola Droid (3.7-inch display, 480 x 854 pixels) has a larger, higher resolution display than the Samsung Moment (3.2-inch display 480 x 320 pixels). Images on the Samsung Moment, however, may appear more vibrant thanks to its use of AMOLED display technology.  The Moment’s display will also consume less battery power.
  • Camera: The Droid has a high quality 5MP camera with 4x digital zoom, flash and auto- focus that is also capable of capturing DVD quality video at 24 frames-per-second. The Samsung Moment has a slightly less powerful 3.2-megapixel camera with flash and auto-focus.
  • Form factor: While both devices offer a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, the Samsung Moment is a somewhat heavier and bulkier device than the Droid.  Though a fairly hefty device in its own right, the Droid is noticeably slimmer than the Moment and is also slightly lighter.  The Droid also has unique, industrial looks while the Moment adopts a more traditional smartphone design.
  • Storage space: The Samsung Moment can support up to a 16GB microSD, and comes with a 2GB microSD card.  The Motorola Droid, on the other hand, can support up to a 32GB microSD card and comes pre-installed with a 16GB microSD card.

  • In my opinion moment rocks but to get the best I would suggest root…

  • Sprint doesn’t carry the Droid. I have limited use of fine motor skills in my right hand (Yes, I’m right handed) and I tried all of the phones out. This one works! The numeric keys come up VERY large on the touchscreen and the QWERTY board actually has some space between the keys so I’m not constantly hitting 2 keys and it of course taking the wrong letter! It also has the voice applications and is user friendly, so I HIGHLY recommend to anyone that has some limited use of their hand-perhaps people that have carpal tunnel syndrome will find it easier to use during flare-ups! After trying the other phones out and having problems with ALL of them, I was ecstatic to find the Samsung Moment, plus Samsung products have a GREAT reputation on the quality of their products, Motorola…..

Anyhow, comparing phones is great; but if your carrier doesn’t carry both phones, look within; but best of all, find a corporate store for your carrier and check out all of their models, ask questions (they have all of the correct answers-I sent an email online and got just got the generic description that was not clear, which is why I sent the email; but the corporate store gave me the answers, what needed to be done – we can add our daughters to our family plan after doing a conference call and they will relinguish their responsibility of their bill to us-their contract for their phone time frame remains the same; but now they will only owe us $19.99 each per month for the Data Everything Plan for Sprint(unlimited calling from any of our phones to any mobile any carrier anywhere at anytime, unlimited text, picture mail email,Sprint TV Premier, music, internet, etc versus whatever they are currently paying on each of their separate contracts! What a deal! We can also change plans around whenever we want without it affecting our contract’s time frame! I’d say Sprint has them all beat out with this one!!!

  • The Moment does come with an SD card.

  • What is the battery usage for both phones? I do know that the Moment comes with a 2gb microsd card.
