Now that the Samsung Vibrant has received a long-awaited update to Android 2.2, some may question how the Vibrant performs against other phones that have Android 2.2. One of the Vibrant’s partners on the T-Mobile network is the T-Mobile myTouch 4G (made by HTC), which is known to be a fast and powerful Android phone. Just how fast is a Vibrant that runs Android 2.2? And how does an updated Vibrant compare vs. the T-Mobile myTouch 4G?

Wirefly set out to find the answer to these questions. We downloaded two popular benchmarking applications (Quadrant and Smartbench 2010) from the Android Market and ran them on both phones. Interestingly, one phone clobbers the other in the Quadrant test, but the tables are decisively turned once Smartbench 2010 is run. Which is the faster phone? Take a look at the video to the right and see if you can decide.

The Samsung Vibrant and T-Mobile myTouch 4G are available at a great prices from Wirefly.
