Activating a cell phone can be different from buying other electronics such as a TV or computer. For orders that include new wireless service or a contract extension, you are not just getting a cell phone shipped to you, but are also getting a monthly account with your cell phone carrier.

To track a specific order, go to www.whereismyorder.com. The WhereIsMyOrder.com site provides you with all the status information available for your order. You can also view and print your sales receipts and rebate forms, as well as track the delivery of your package once we release it to the shipping company.

Most approvals are received quickly, but if your carrier needs additional information before approving your service order, you will receive an email from Wirefly asking for this information on their behalf. Your order status can also be found at our customer service center.

You will receive e-mails to confirm when your cell phone has been approved and activated, and another containing your FedEx shipping details

99% of orders approved and activated by 7pm Eastern Time are shipped on the same day

  • Carrier Approval

    If your order includes a new wireless account, then your application for service is automatically submitted to the carrier you’ve chosen for approval.

    If your cell phone order includes a contract extension from your current cell phone provider, then your information is submitted to confirm that your account is eligible to receive a discount on a new cell phone.

  • Order Assembly and Testing

    Our distribution center staff selects the items you have ordered from inventory. For all cell phone activations, we physically open the box, and we use test batteries to power up the cell phone and ensure that everything is functioning as it should.

  • Cell Phone Activation

    If you have ordered a new service plan or contract extension, Wirefly then programs and schedules the activation of your new cell phone from our production line. Step-by-step instructions for completing the activation are inserted into the shipping box.

  • Transferring Your Phone Number

    If you requested to transfer your existing number to your new cell phone, we will initiate the transfer or “port” and when possible we will schedule the transfer to occur after your phone arrives. Additional information about the porting process will be included with your shipment.

  • Shipping Preparation

    Once your purchase is ready for packaging, Wirefly’s trained warehouse staff carefully packs your order and passes it on to our Quality Assurance team which re-scans each cell phone and accessory to ensure that your order is complete.

  • Shipped

    Wirefly ships your order via FedEx based on the shipping preferences you selected when you placed your order. If you selected 2nd business day delivery, your order will arrive within 2 business days of the ship date. If you selected next business day delivery, your order will arrive within 1 business day of the ship date. You can track the status of your delivery via the FedEx site.

    For your security, FedEx may require a signature at time of delivery. If nobody is available to receive the package, the driver may leave a slip that you can sign to allow delivery without a signature.

  • I needed to port my numbers and I selected the phones and filled out the info but I used my son card and for some reason they set the account up in his name with my social but I just called them and kept getting the message to enter ur tracking number and once the recording is complete it hangs up..so what I did was called and talked to the sales dept they transferred me to customer service and I corrected the name issue..but before I called wirefly I contacted Sprint and did my credit app and got the approval from them because an app is active for days..so once I corrected the name issue my order went right thru..the promos I received was no activation fees from wirefly and 125 each line in credits for porting my numbers so that over 700 dollars in savings..which 500 dollars have been applied in credits for bill pay or accessories.. U have to stay on top of things because wirefly is a third party company..

      Hello I just ordered my phone and I have not recieved my internet comformation but have my order number 368700855, in which I am unable to track. So could you please it me know when I should be expecting my phone, the representative told me 3 business days and I see online that you delivery via fedex at no charge maybe 1-2 days.

        I checked your order and you should have been sent an e-mail asking for your MetroPCS account number. If you did not receive that e-mail, please check your spam mailbox to see if it is there. When you ordered your phone, you listed your phone number as your MetroPCS account number and that isn’t the same thing. We will need your MetroPCS account number (and possibly your PIN) in order to transfer the number to your new phone and carrier. If you need someone to help you through the process, let me know and I’ll put you in touch with a customer service person.

    i submit canceled my order and my card was ranned for 29 dollars i canceled it before it processed and was told that i would rec a refund withtin 24hrs which i have not rec i don’t have my order number but i was told it can be pulled up with phone#954-687-7772.

    • Nerline, the authorization for $29 was released on 8/18/11, and should have cleared your bank account. Since it was an authorization and not an actual charge, it will not show as a credit, but it will be as if it never happened. If you are seeing a $29 charge on your account, please let me know and I will get it off your account.

  • How come I ordered my phone. I was approved by Sprint. The phone is scheduled for delivery 08/13, but Sprint says my account is already suspended/cancelled. I’m confused.

    • Issaic, sorry it’s taken a while for me to get back to you. I tried to answer your question last week, but the system logged me out and wouldn’t log me back in!

      I checked into your order and all I can say is that you didn’t pass Wirefly’s very tough requirements. However, you should be able to get the phones directly from the carrier, so that is your best bet.

      Bethany, I have ordered several phones through wirefly, and have never had an issue. It’s a great choice if you’re looking for a phone, but the carrier has it for a higher price. Wirefly generally has it for less or even free.

    i did call the number it was very helpful but how can i track my device because i honestly dont know if it went through or not but it had to because it charged my credit card but why arent i getting more information on about my order i got the email monday are they going to send my tracking number through the email as well

    • Your order has been cancelled. The credit card hold that you see will fall away in a couple of days and it will be as though they were never there.

    You have been charging my account $4.99 since July 30, 2010. Since this is a business account, and a minimal charge, I just noticed it today, May 1, 2011. I called the credit card company and they told me you are actually charging me monthly, not like a bank draft, but actually keying in a charge. STOP!!!! I have no idea what it’s for, and you have already made $49.90 from me for some unknown and illegal reason. The credit card # has been changed, so contact me for more money. Good luck!!

  • I ordered 2 phones as upgrades on Feb.25th…You say I owe a balance to Verizon they say I am paid up and my balance is $0! Yet you will still not send me the phones! I have contacted you 3x and spoke to live perople and each time after 5 min. they place me on hold and then hang up! Rude and terrible customer service! I am not happy!

  • My first order with wirefly was on the 11th. then i found out days later they needed more info before they send out my phone. When that was takin care of i still didnt get it. when i called them on the matter they said ur droid 2 will be sent soon. that wasnt the phone i ordered i told them. now i was mad. had to re do everything.its been 2 weeks now and still nothing!! NOT HAPPY!!!!

  • i am pretty sastisfied with wire flys. the phone is happy with me so i am happy with the phone. i only got pissed one time when i was hung up on. i couldnt find my wallet for something. i ordered some tmobl touch phone an got an att but its ok it talks to me and even tells me where im at. it cant tell me how to spell tho. wire flys ask me if everthng wuz awrt an i said yeah. they say to call if i needed anything else. i dont really like this phone number tho. its not really me. this phone says 4g or somethin. what is that? I dont like that for some reason.

Look, if you have an IQ equal to a box of rocks then you probably do NOT need a cell phone and most certainly do NOT need to order one online! And for crying out loud… DO NOT under any circumstances breed!

    The prices are good. The process is easy. However, they need to do something about their shipping. 2 times within a month (maybe month and a half) timeframe I ordered phones. Both times when Wirefly transmitted the shipping info to FedEx, my apartment number didn’t transfer, and it caused a delay in me getting my package. The first time was free shipping, the second I paid extra for expedited shipping. They HAVE the right address on file, it’s just an issue that for some reason the apartment number isn’t transferred over to FedEx. (I had to use Line 2 on the address portion because my street name is too long to fit that and the apartment number on 1 line). Other than that, I’m satisfied.

  • ya i agree with gp. most of those comments sounded so so stupid. how the hell are we supposed to know what lg phone carolyn is talking about? all she said is that she didnt want the red one. and i want to tell kiki that if she really doesnt know how to figure out if her credit card was deducted from, then she shouldnt have one. id like to encourage everyone to use correct punctuation. no one can understand what some of the comments are talking about. thank you :)
