The Android-running Samsung Moment debuted months before CES, but Samsung is spicing things up a bit by outfitting the same old Moment with the ability to receive live Digital Television (DTV) broadcasts.

The move to DTV on mobile devices seems like the natural next step following the nationwide switchover to DTV in June. Currently only in the testing phases, the pre-production model we took a look at had quite a bit of trouble getting a clear picture — though purportedly due to the many various signals flying through the air over the CES floor.

No word yet on availability or whether the DTV receiver components will be fully integrated with the DTV Moment or available as a separate accessory. Sprint plans to test the Moment with DTV signals in Washington DC and Baltimore.
