Have you lugged your laptop on a one-day business trip to give a presentation only to have it conk out or realize you forgot the power pack at home? Well, BlackBerry is touting a solution for its loyal army of BlackBerry addicts during CES 2010 — cleverly enough called the BlackBerry Presenter. Hook up the relatively small device to any projector, and present your presentation wirelessly from your BlackBerry smartphone.
The BlackBerry Presenter unit connects to your phone using Bluetooth, and can be connected to a projector or monitor using a VGA or S-Video cable and supports NTSC and PAL video formats. The presenter can roam up to 10 feet from the device while presenting, or choose to leave the presentation running on loop. There’s also support for presenter notes, most PowerPoint transitions and effects, and the ability to freeze a slide.
Unfortunately, BlackBerry Presenter is only compatible with OS v4.6 and the BlackBerry Presenter Manager software doesn’t appear to be Mac-compatible. You’ll be able to pick up the accessory for an expected $199 when it becomes available.
