[Wirefly’s video unboxing and walk through at right.]
There are few phones that have launched recently that have inspired as many “ohhhsss” and “ahhhsss” here at Wirefly headquarters as the impending HTC HD2 for T-Mobile. This surprisingly thin Windows Mobile 6.5 smartphone features a huge (and gorgeous) 4.3-inch capacitive touch display that makes HTC’s custom Sense user interface, videos, and images look stunning.
While some may be disappointed to learn that the HD2 will reportedly not support an update to Windows Phone 7, fans of HTC’s tightly-integrated and powerful Sense user interface won’t be among them. Armed with a 1GHz Snapdragon processor and 576MB of RAM, the HD2 was impressively quick in our brief first forays with the device.
Interestingly enough, the HTC HD2 comes preloaded with Transformers and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen if you just can’t get enough of Megan Fox. Other goodies include pre-installed Facebook and Twitter apps, mobiTV, Blockbuster OnDemand, and even an app from Barnes and Noble that will let you use the device’s large display to shop for and read eBooks. You even get six months of GoGo in-flight WiFi service for free.
