We’ve heard some faint rumblings about the LG Ally, but until now, fairly little has materialized on LG’s first foray into the world of Android. Well, our friends over at Android Police have gone beyond the specs we’ve been seeing floating around and have unearthed a commercial for Verizon’s next Android headliner that may inspire a few chuckles or even a ‘LOL’ or two.
In a departure from the epic ‘DROID Does’ campaign that featured anything from poignant jabs at the iPhone to Motorola DROIDs dropping from stealth bombers, Big Red’s marketing team elected to take a refreshingly comical approach. The ad ties in with the upcoming release of superhero flick Iron Man 2, and shows an Ally-toting group using the smartphone to get themselves out of a sticky situation.
Commercials aside, we’ve gone ahead and compiled the key specs we’ve come across. A few of these line items are far from confirmed, mind you, but the inclusion of Android 2.1 and that 1GHz processor are pretty safe bets. And yes, the Ally will sport a 4-row QWERTY keyboard. That we know.
