Check out this video of the gang out over at AndroidSpin.com giving the Motorola Defy a water-torture test.

The phone doesn’t get submerged, but it sits in water long enough to be a valid test.

For those of you who have had to shell out money because of water damage to a phone, this is a breath of fresh air.

Expect that some day soon all phones will have the water-resistant technology, and we’ll all be free to drop our phones in the toilet with impunity!

That will never happen. While I have a Defy and can say it is indestructible and probably ThE best overall cellphone made in the past 5 years….this technology will never catch on. Not because the people don’t want it…but because manufacturers will lose a ton of money if they all start making indestructible phones. Ticks me off. I am now with att after dumping tmobile but kept my defy, unlocked it and now use it with att. I would love for someone to come out with an upgraded version… but the defy+ wasn’t even released in the US… So….
