Mac users have long been only able to dream about harnessing the power of the BlackBerry desktop management tool that their Windows-running counterparts have long taken for granted. Well, come October 2nd, the dreams of Mac users everywhere will come to fruition with the release of BlackBerry Desktop Manager for Mac.
Although BlackBerry’s Mac landing page still proclaims “BlackBerry Desktop Software is coming to Mac in September!,” the remaining hours of the month are quickly dwindling. Word on the street, however, is that October 2nd at precisely 1PM EST BlackBerry will make the application available to the hungry hordes.
BlackBerry Desktop Manager will offer Mac users the ability to sync their iCal schedule, Address Book, and iTunes library and also provide the functionality to backup their device and manage applications. Mac users will likely agree that late is certainly better than never.
