With the leak of the BlackBerry Desktop Manager for Mac beta software last week, fans worldwide are tuned in to BlackBerry’s every whisper regarding the launch of the official build. As BlackBerry found out today, social media is an incredibly powerful communication tool. Diehard fans of the BlackBerry Facebook Page were greeted with a post that was distributed to all fans’ feeds stating: “BlackBerry® Desktop Software for Mac: now available!: [URL is now invalid]”. The BlackBerry Facebook update was syndicated to Twitter.

The tweets are rolling in at alarming rates—not only did BlackBerry jump the gun but the hundreds of enthusiast sites that helped Blackberry spread the news are making good by retweeting this official statement from BlackBerry’s Twitter account.
