In case you happen to have missed the first “sneak peak” of BlackBerry’s upcoming OS 6, or were perhaps distracted by an insatiable desire to get up and bust some moves of your own, the Waterloo crew has released another video teasing some additional features of the next generation of BlackBerry’s increasingly senescent operating system.
From what we’ve seen so far (and we did get a fleeting opportunity to go hands-on with the new OS ourselves a couple weeks back), Blackberry OS 6 promises to breathe new life into the BlackBerry user interface you know and love. In this particular sneak peak video, we are left salivating over an updated media interface, revamped home screen, new universal search function, and the highly anticipated WebKit-based browser that promises to alleviate the gripes shared by many a BlackBerry user. RIM’s latest video also focuses heavily on social media integration and an enhanced BlackBerry Messenger app.
There’s no official word just yet on when BlackBerry 6 will make its way into your loving arms…err palms, but according to an official blog post by BlackBerry’s VP of Handheld Software Product Management, a release is still on track for this summer (and time’s a wastin’).
