Jitterbug

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, chances are you’ve seen the commercials for the superbly simplistic Jitterbug cell phone and services aimed at the older generation. As of Today, Jitterbug is joining forces with Verizon Wireless to offer the same phone and ease-of-use on Verizon’s network.

Jitterbug offers a handset with large buttons, an easy-to-read screen, phone book that can updated with a phone call to customer service, and even a dial tone. The partnership will offer Jitterbug users less expensive night and weekend options, and more minutes on Jitterbug plans. Existing Jitterbug subscribers will be transitioned over to Verizon’s network in the coming months.

“We know that there are a lot of people out there that just want a simple cell phone experience and together with Verizon Wireless, we can now offer more new services based on cutting edge wireless technology, and make our services more affordable,” said David Inns, chief executive officer of GreatCall. “Jitterbug is committed to giving our growing family of customers the best service experience possible, and this is another example of us achieving that goal.”

I would like to get the Jitterbug, for my mother. Can I go to the local phone store to buy it? What would it cost w/a two year contract. Thank you.

I have been with Verizon for years and am considering changing my telephone and my service. Can my credit of $50 be applied to the purchase of a Verizon Jitterbug phone?

Can a Jitterbug user and a verizon wireless user have free mobile to mobile service – my daugher and I both have Verizon but if I switch to a Jitterbug when my contract is up, will I have the same privileges of a Verizon user? Thanks – this is confusing!
