As mobile apps continue to grow in number at an exponential rate and become an ever more important part of the mobile landscape, finding the best app to download is becoming a growing challenge. Enter Google. In a move that was arguably only a matter of time, the search engine giant announced yesterday on its official mobile blog that Android and iPhone users are now able to search for apps from the standard mobile version of Google.com.
We gave Google’s new search option a try with a number of different search terms, and the results were pretty on par with what you’d expect. App results appear at the top of the page, complete with details including rating, price and publisher. Tapping on an app will launch the Android Market or iPhone App Store where users can get further details and proceed to download the app.
