Narrowly missing its self-imposed deadline of the ‘end of summer’ by just a few days, AT&T confirmed today that MMS functionality will grace iPhone 3G’s and 3GS’s everywhere beginning September 25th.

MMS functionality was included as part of the iPhone’s 3.0 software update released in June. Sending many iPhone users up in arms, AT&T did not immediately enable the otherwise ubiquitous messaging feature for fear that iPhone users would overwhelm the carrier’s network with MMS traffic.
