As expected, Motorola and Verizon Wireless officially confirmed today that the Motorola DEVOUR with social networking interface MOTOBLUR will be adding a mid-range Android device to Big Red’s smartphone lineup.
Resembling a mix between the T-Mobile Sidekick and Motorola’s celebrated DROID, the DEVOUR slides sideways to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard. Motorola’s latest Android phone features a 3.1-inch, 320×480 pixel capacitive touch screen, 3-megapixel camera, accelerometer, stereo Bluetooth, aGPS, WiFi, and microSD card slot (8GB pre-installed, 32GB capacity). The DEVOUR sports an optical trackpad for enhanced navigation, and at launch will be running Android 1.6.
The tasty, if curiously named, Motorola DEVOUR is expected to garnish the virtual store shelves of Wirefly in March. Pricing has not yet been set.
