The Nokia N900 handset and internet tablet, the first Nokia device to run Linux-based Maemo, is now available for pre-order for anxious consumers in Italy and Germany. This enticing piece of technology is available directly from Nokia for a mere €599 a pop (yes, that’s Euros).

The N900 will feature a ARM Cortex-A8 600 MHz processor, 3.5 inch touch display, 32GB of on-board storage space, an integrated FM transmitter, slide-out QWERTY, and -megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics. Best of all, it will run Nokia’s sleek Maemo 5 operating system.
