In the last number of hours, the hopes and very dreams of many Motorola DROID users have finally come to fruition. At long last, the masses appear to be getting their updates to Android 2.1, effectively closing the software gap that was making some DROID owners green with envy over their Nexus One-toting counterparts.

The update brings a bevy of goodness to Motorola’s flagship Android device, including pinch-to-zoom support, speech-to-text capabilities, live wallpapers, an updated music player and 3D photo gallery, news and weather widgets and more. For a closer look, hit that play button.
