According to the fine folks at TmoNews, your G1 or myTouch 3G is likely to receive an over-the-air update to Android 1.6 (aka Donut) in the next couple of days — perhaps while you’re fast asleep.

Beginning early this morning, T-Mobile began serving select Android handsets their sprinkle-covered goodness. Reportedly, G1 handsets are first on the priority list to receive the update, with myTouch 3G handset’s scheduled to begin receiving updates starting tomorrow.

Initially announced last month, Android’s Donut update will offer Android users several new features, an updated Android market, and a number of new platform technologies.

Would you like coffee with that donut?
