Sprint recently introduced a new unlimited wireless plan that may put the carrier in front of the competition, at least for now. The newly announced plan, which is called the Sprint $60 Unlimited Plan, promises customers unlimited calls, texting, and data for only a monthly charge of $60.00.
Barely a day after the launch of T-Mobile's $100.00 Family Plan, Sprint is introducing its own Family Share Pack. This new Family Share plan should give Sprint's subscribers (and their families) twice the amount of share data for up to a maximum of 10 lines of service.
In late July of this year, T-Mobile announced its Simple Choice Family Plan. Offered for a limited time only, the plan allowed subscribers to have four lines of service with unlimited calls, unlimited texting, and 2.5 gigabytes of high-speed data per line -- all for just a monthly charge of $100.00. The introduction of the plan was a timely effort by T-Mobile to counter similar family-friendly offers by its competitors, namely Verizon, Sprint, and AT&T.
Sprint's new Chief Executive Officer, Marcelo Claure is wasting no time in modifying Sprint's business model and strategy. Claure, the tenacious founder of Brightstar, a billion dollar telecommunications company, has a track record of bold business moves-- which is exactly what he is doing at Sprint. Claure is planning to implement cell phone plans at a cost that will be, "very disruptive" to the market next week.
