Well, well, well. There are reports that Apple is actually now putting Apple Watch inventory, specifically Apple Watch bands, on its retail stores. This marks the first time that the company has stocked Apple Watch accessories since it officially launched its first ever wearable device, the Apple Watch, last April 24th. Although what is being stocked are only Apple Watch bands and not the smartwatch itself, this should be good news for people who were hoping that they would be able to purchase Apple's newest toy without having to purchase online or make a reservation.
There is no full word yet on exactly which bands are available for purchase, but early reports indicate that there are Leather Loops, Milanese loops, and several bands for the Apple Watch Sport edition, in both 38 millimeter and 42 millimeter sizes.
The fact that Apple Watch bands are now available in Apple retails stores should delight those who have already gotten their Apple Watch devices. Despite some reports suggesting that options for bands have been partly the reason for delayed shipping schedules of certain models, apparently that is longer the case as Apple seems to be catching up (at last) on the demand for Apple Watch accessories.
Still, the band options actually available in Apple retail stores is very limited. Fortunately for stylish Apple Watch owners, Apple has already started kicking off its third party band program, which should provide even more choices for bands in no time.
Moreover, stocking Apple Watch bands in Apple retail stores could be a sign that Apple is ready, or almost ready, to begin stocking Apple Watch units for walk in customers. Apple retail chief Angela Ahrendts have previously stated last month that walk in buyers of the Apple Watch can expect to purchase one some time in June. That month is only a week away, but it would not hurt if Apple makes its smartwatch available for impulse buyers in the days to come.
As mentioned earlier, the Apple Watch is already available for ordering online only. It comes in three basic models -- the entry level Apple Watch Sport which starts at $349, the midrange Apple Watch priced at $549, and the luxury model Apple Watch Edition which costs at least $10,000. This wearable device marks the first time that Apple is encouraging its buyers to order online, instead of visiting retail stores to buy the smartwatch.
