AT&T will reportedly soon introduce very generous discounts on a number of old iPhone models via its $45 per month prepaid plan. The talk is that the number two wireless service provider in the United States will be offering the 32 gigabyte edition of Apple’s iPhone 6s at just $344.99 and the 32 gigabyte iPhone 6s Plus for only $444.99.
Bear in mind that both prices mentioned in the preceding paragraph already come with the $45 charge for the monthly prepaid service, which basically means that the two models are sold for only $300 and $400, respectively. By the way, the carrier also currently offers the iPhone SE for $194.99 and the iPhone 6 for $244.99, with both prices already including the $45 per month charge for prepaid service.
For those still not familiar with AT&T’s $45 prepaid plan, know that it already includes unlimited minutes of voice calls and unlimited text messaging, as well as 6 gigabytes of data. When the mobile operator had rebranded its GoPhone prepaid offering into simply AT&T Prepaid back in July of last year, it created a couple of plans -- the $45 prepaid plan mentioned earlier, and another $65 per month prepaid plan that comes with unlimited voice call minutes, text messaging, and data.
In other AT&T related news, it appears that the second biggest wireless carrier in the country is also looking to start conducting 5G demonstrations at a Hyatt hotel located in the city of Dallas, the most densely populated metropolitan area in the state of Texas. It turns out that AT&T has already filed the paperwork requesting for a Special Temporary Authority (STA) with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
The company explained in its application to the FCC that its 5G demos will mainly involve establishing communications between fixed base stations set up in indoor settings or in open spaces located within the building at 300 Reunion Boulevard in the Big D. Based on the filing, AT&T is hoping to begin its demos at the start of next month and until June 1st of this year.
Some may remember that more than a couple of weeks ago, AT&T had announced its plans of launching its upcoming mobile 5G offering in no less than a dozen cities in the United States in 2018. Apart from this goal, the wireless carrier is also planning to facilitate more 5G trials for businesses from a wide range of industries.
