A couple of major wireless carriers in America, namely AT&T and Sprint, are launching separate special offers involving Apple’s current flagship devices, the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus.
Back in February early this year, AT&T had introduced a buy one, get one promotional deal. But heading into June, the second biggest wireless carrier in the United States has decided to extend its offer to include Apple’s iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s plus, Samsung’s flagship offerings the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge, LG’s flagship G5 smartphone, and HTC’s One A9, just to name a few.
On top of this, AT&T is also offering four lines of service with unlimited data to subscribers of its DirecTV service for $180 a month. Also, the wireless carrier continues to offer as much as $650 in credits for each line of service to mobile users who decide to switch from another mobile service provider to AT&T and trade in their existing handsets and avail of the buy one, get one deal. It should be noted that the $180 offer is made available after a $40 credit is applied for the fourth smartphone line of service, and credits begin after a couple of bills, which means customers with four new lines get to pay $220 a month until that time comes. For handsets up to $695, they are absolutely free of charge after 30 bill credits. The buy one get one deal though must consist of handsets built by the same phone maker. This offer is made available until June 30th of this year.
AT&T has also launched a trio of new offers for its business users. These include a $250 discount on qualified tablet devices with a two year agreement, a free whole year subscription to MobileIron for customers who decide to activate or upgrade at least 20 lines of service on any eligible Samsung handset, and 15 percent discount on new small business service contracts with fewer than six lines.
What about Sprint’s deal? The wireless carrier now allows its subscribers to purchase one iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus device, and then grab a second for one free with at least a new line of service and a qualified upgrade. To avail of the offer, customers must buy the handsets with a two year equipment installment plan or lease them over a period of 18 months, or can opt for leasing one device and buying the other.
Sprint also took the opportunity to introduce a tablet special offer, offering a $200 discount on qualified iPad devices to customers who decide to purchase an iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus on a lease or with an equipment installment plan. The discount applies to both iPad Pro models (the 12.9 inch version as well as the 9.7 inch edition) and the iPad Mini 4, in any memory configuration as long as they are purchased in 4 monthly installments. Similar to what AT&T has done, Sprint will still cover fees of up to $650 for each line of service for customers who defect from other wireless carriers.
