OnePlus has decided to temporarily suspend sales of its OnePlus 3 smartphone in a number of countries in Europe starting on August 9th of this year. The reason? It appears that the Chinese phone maker is having a hard time keeping up with the high demand for its latest handset offering and will have to halt sales for now to select European regions.
As indicated in a blog post written by Carl Pei, co-founder of OnePlus, the company apparently underestimated the sales for the OnePlus 3 across mainland Europe. As far as problems are concerned, this is a good problem to have for the Chinese tech firm, but on the customer side, it should come as a cause for disappointment, especially for prospective buyers based in Europe who were looking to purchase the OnePlus 3. Unfortunately for those highly anticipating to get their hands on the device, they will have to wait until OnePlus can resupply its stocks.
If it is any comfort to interested buyers of the OnePlus 3, not all European countries will be affected. But for those who are based in countries such as Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Spain, they will have to exercise some patience for more than a month’s time. According to OnePlus, its OnePlus 3 smartphone will not be made available to these regions from August 9th until September 12th of this year.
OnePlus has offered an in-stock notification feature in its official website. For those affected would-be buyers who want to purchase the OnePlus 3 as soon as the opportunity presents itself, they may want to submit their email address so that when stocks do get replenished, they will be the ones to be the first to know.
Considering that there are still a few days to go before August 9 arrives, it would be wise for customers to order the OnePlus 3 handset as soon as possible. But they must be cautioned that due to some possible supply shortage, they might end up waiting for longer shipping times than the usual.
The OnePlus 3 smartphone was officially launched in the United States mobile market back in June earlier this year, with its global roll out immediately starting thereafter. The device came with a price of $399, and was made available without any need for invitation, unlike earlier OnePlus smartphone releases. Other OnePlus devices include the OnePlus One, the OnePlus 2, and the OnePlus X.
