More than a couple of weeks ago, Huawei had confirmed the existence of its latest midrange phablet offering -- the Honor 7X. Despite publishing the specifications and features of the newest addition to the Chinese phone maker’s Honor lineup of budget friendly devices, no details were mentioned with regards to pricing and availability.
This time, however, Huawei has decided to make the Honor 7X available for preordering. The pricing is at $200 and delivery time should be in or around the middle of this month. For its midrange price, the phablet should attract takers with its 5.93 inch Full View display screen, which features an aspect ratio of 18 to 9 and a 1,080 by 2,160 pixel resolution, as well as its dual camera set up on the rear side, which is made up of a 16 megapixel camera and a 2 megapixel shooter.
Other notable specs include an 8 megapixel camera on the front side, an octa core HiSilicon Kirin 659 chip set, aided by 4 gigabytes of random access memory (RAM) and at least 32 gigabytes of onboard storage (which can be expanded up to 256 gigabytes of memory capacity via support for micro SD cards), a fingerprint scanner mounted on the rear side, a non-removable 3,340 mAh battery, and Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat mobile operating system.
Not content with releasing the Honor 7X, Huawei is also looking to launch another phablet device -- the Honor View 10 (in the Chinese mobile market, it is called the Honor V10). Many may consider the Honor View 10 as Huawei’s answer, sort of, to the OnePlus 5T (which now has an awesome Star Wars limited edition variant). The View 10’s 5.99 inch Full View screen (with an aspect ratio of 18 to 9, similar to the Honor 7X) does look a bit sleek on a full metal frame, and the bezel-less approach to design should be consistent with recent trends in mobile aesthetics.
Camera wise, Huawei’s new Honor View 10 offers a twin camera configuration on the rear side (a 16 megapixel camera and a 20 megapixel shooter), and a 13 megapixel sensor on the front side. In terms of hardware specs, the phablet is equipped with an eight core HiSilicon Kirin 970 chip set, with 6 gigabytes of RAM and at least 64 gigabytes of built in storage. The battery is at 3,750 mAh, while the OS is Android 8.0 Oreo.
Huawei recently announced that the Honor View 10 will be arriving in America by the second week of next month.
