There is a deluge of new smartphones being introduced in the Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA) trade show held in Berlin. It appears that in order for your newly launched product to gain some media traction, introducing your fresh new toy at this international exhibit is definitely the in thing to do.
China-based phone maker Huawei certainly agrees. As a matter of fact, the Chinese company has just officially unveiled three smartphones at IFA Berlin. The new devices include the Huawei Ascend Mate 7, the Huawei Ascend G7, and the sapphire Huawei Ascend P7.
The Ascend Mate 7 is considered to be Huawei's answer to the HTC One Max. Measuring 6 inches, this phablet features a 1920 by 1080p resolution display screen, which gives it a 367 ppi pixel density. It packs a HiSilicon Kirin 825 octo-core chip, which consists of 1.3 GigaHertz and 1.8 GigaHertz processors. It has got 32 gigabytes of internal storage, plus microSD support. Its battery is at 4100 mAh.
It further boasts a 13-megapixel rear camera that comes with f/2.0 aperture, and is paired nicely with an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. Its other features include 4G connectivity, fingerprint sensor for quick and easy unlocking, and guest mode, among many others.
The second device to be formally introduced by Huawei is the Ascend G7. This smartphone measures 5.5 inches and sports an elegant design made of mostly aluminum.
Based on its premium metallic design aesthetics, it is safe to conclude that the Ascend G7 is a phablet targeted to high-end users. It uses a quad-core 1.2 GigaHertz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, and features 16 gigabytes of internal memory and 2 gigabytes of random access memory (RAM). On top of that, this smartphone comes with microSD support and a 3000 mAh battery pack.
Its display screen resolution is pegged at 1280 by 720p. Snap-happy users will be delighted to know that the Ascend G7 has two cameras: a 5-megapixel camera on the front, and a 13-megapixel camera on the rear.
Expected to hit stores this coming November, the Huawei Ascend G7 will reportedly come in gold, silver, and metallic gray colors.
Rounding up Huawei's new offerings is the new and improved version of Ascend P7. This smartphone is designed to be more resistant to scratches. In fact, it features a sapphire display screen and a ceramic rear cover intended to protect the phone against such types of surface damage. Sapphire is generally considered to be more durable than ordinary glass, and having a device with a sapphire screen should help users minimize the occurrence of scratches brought on by coins and keys rubbing against the phone.
As for the ceramic cover, it is definitely an upgrade over the regular Ascend P7's glass panel. Like sapphire, the ceramic material provides better resistance against scratches than ordinary glass covering.
Apart from the sapphire screen and ceramic rear, this new Ascend P7 iteration shares mostly the same hardware and features as the old P7 version. So fans can expect the usual 1.8 GigaHertz quad-core processor, 16 gigabytes of internal storage, 2 gigabytes of random access memory (RAM), 8-megapixel front-facing camera, and 13-megapixel rear camera. Because of the sapphire material used in its screen, this latest Ascend P7 edition is expected to command a higher price than its earlier version.
