Without much fanfare, HTC debuts it latest Android smartphone, the One E9+, via its Chinese website. Featuring a resolution of 2,560 by 1,440 pixels, the One E9+ appears to be the sharpest smartphone that HTC has ever produced.
As indicated on the official specifications for the smartphone, the HTC One E9+ device comes with a 5.5 inch display screen. The large touch screen and ultra-high resolution specs are paired nicely with a 13 megapixel camera on the rear side and an UltraPixel shooter on the front side.
As far as hardware specifications are concerned, the HTC One E9+ packs an octa core Mediatek chip set, supported with 2 gigabytes of random access memory (RAM) and 16 gigabytes of internal memory. With regards to its software, the HTC One E9+ runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop with HTC Sense 7.0.
Visitors to the HTC One E9+'s web page may be a bit confused with the specs listed. On the splash page of the device, the pixel resolution is indicated as 2,560 by 1,440, with a pixel density of 534 pixels per inch. However, on the specs page, the display resolution is specified as 1,920 by 1,080 pixels. It may possible that the lesser pixel resolution numbers listed on the page are for the One E9, while the higher pixel resolution specs are for the One E9+. There is no doubt that the real resolution specs will be made public when HTC decides to formally announce the device in the coming weeks.
HTC has not released any information yet regarding the pricing and availability details of the One E9+. Those who are interested in this upcoming device may do well to look to its predecessor, the current One E8. This device comes with a plastic body housing a 5 inch HD display screen, a 13 megapixel camera on the rear side, a 5 megapixel camera on the front side, a Snapdragon 801 processor, and BoomSound speakers. It also runs on Android 4.4 KitKat (with HTC Sense 6.0), and features LTE connectivity and near field communications (NFC) mobile payment technology.
Or they could check out leaked specifications and images pertaining to the One E9 device that were reported earlier in March of this year. There is no way of ascertaining for now if this is the same device as the One E9+, but it does offer a basic idea of what to expect.
