Apple’s upcoming flagship device, the iPhone 7, will feature a larger camera, as well as a dual speaker, that is, if the latest leaked images turn out to be true. France based tech blog site Nowhereelse.fr posted a photo that portrays the device’s casing with the standard audio jack nowhere to be found. In its place is a second speaker grill. Could this mean that Apple is putting stereo speakers on its iPhone devices for the first time? Lately, there has been much speculation about whether the tech giant will do away with the regular 3.5 millimeter headphone jack.
Based on a second photo allegedly of the iPhone 7’s casing, a dual camera lens is shown. If these rumors prove to be correct, then the dual camera configuration, as well as the dual speaker set up, may become features of a 5.5 inch size iPhone 7 Plus model, or even a special iPhone 7 Pro variant, and not likely that of a standard 4.7 inch size iPhone 7.
In other leaked photos posted by Nowhereelse.fr, a bigger camera hole could be sported by the 4.7 inch size iPhone 7. Like the larger iPhone 7 variant’s camera mentioned earlier, the camera assembly for the smaller iPhone 7 model also raises to form a bump that sticks out from the handset’s surface. Lastly, the leaked images show that the position of the two horizontal antennae lines that are standard in past iPhone models has been changed. In the upcoming iPhone 7, the two antennae lines appear at the edges of the device’s frame.
In the midst of some sales woes, Apple needs its upcoming iPhone 7 offering to be a hit. But recent reports suggest that this year’s iPhones will come with no major improvements. It is said that the tech giant is saving up mind blowing new features for next year’s model, in celebration of the tenth anniversary of the release of the first ever iPhone device back in 2007.
According to Nowhereelse.fr, the leaked images were supplied by certain contacts within Pegatron subcontractor factories. These same sources also state the production for this year’s iPhone 7 has already commenced. Pegatron is the backup manufacturer for Apple’s iPhone devices, with Foxconn as the primary supplier and manufacturing partner.
