Can’t wait to see just exactly what HTC’s new upcoming flagship device looks like? Today might be your day (although considering that the handset is scheduled to be unveiled tomorrow, there is hardly any wait) -- a promotional video for the soon to be debuted HTC “10” smartphone has leaked in the interwebs, and the clip is generously showing the device in all its glory.
However, due to the fact that the smartphone has not been officially announced by Taiwanese phone maker just yet, it is quite possible that the leaked video is not genuine. Still, based on earlier reported leaks, there is plenty of evidence that seem to suggest the device shown on the clip is indeed the real McCoy.
On the video, the smartphone is displayed in three color options -- gold, silver, and dark gray. The edges of the device appear to be chamfered, and the handset’s bottom section is shown to feature a USB Type C port. On the rear side of the smartphone, the HTC branding, the camera lens (protruding just a bit), and a couple of antenna lines are visible.
Previous HTC flagship device releases, especially the One M7, the One M8, and last year’s One M9, all have sleek rear designs, and the leaked video suggests that this aesthetic will be continued with the Taiwan based mobile manufacturer’s latest smartphone offering. But on the new device’s front side, there are some notable differences. Chief among them is the removal of the phone maker’s trademark twin speaker grills. In their place instead is a physical button near the bottom section, which may function as a home shortcut as well as a fingerprint reader. Some might say that the design is reminiscent of the One A9 smartphone, the One M9 follow up that HTC released in October of last year.
With regards to specifications and features, we will know about them for sure by tomorrow. But for now, the latest flagship device from HTC is said to boast a Snapdragon 820 chip set, supported with 4 gigabytes of random access memory (RAM), plus 332 gigabytes of onboard memory. More than a month ago, there were reports of leaked images of the device (courtesy of @OnLeaks). There was also some speculation that the handset will be fitted with a 5.15 inch QHD display screen, a 12 megapixel camera on the rear side, and an Adreno 530 graphics processing unit (GPU).
