We are still more than a week away from the expected official announcement of LG’s newest flagship device, the LG G5 smartphone. But the South Korean tech giant has already been busy revealing pieces of information about the upcoming smartphone’s features. Just this week alone, LG teased an “Always ON” feature for the device by way of an animated image posted in its official Facebook page. This time around, the company has decided to introduce a Quick Cover case for the latest addition to its G series of smartphone devices.
Quick Cover is a touch enabled case, and it is wrapped in a specific film material that exudes a luxurious metal sheen and other unique properties. The really cool thing about LG’s newest Quick Cover case is that it allows mobile users to take voice calls and even manage the settings of the alarm feature via its semi-transparent mesh material. In other words, owners of the LG G5 will never have to open its case whenever accepting calls or when turning off the alarm (or hitting snooze) early in the morning.
LG has released earlier Quick Cover cases in the past, and just like those old ones, the latest iteration comes with a small window that allows mobile users to get a peek of their smartphone’s display screen. As for the G5 smartphone, the small window shows the date, time and notifications on the Always On display.
As of this writing, LG has not yet released any details about the specific pricing for the Quick Cover case, or the whole price of the G5 with the case already included. But considering that February 21st is just less than a fortnight away, fans of LG may not have long to wait. By then, everyone will find out if the rumors are indeed true.
It may be considered common knowledge by now that LG is planning to officially unveil its newest flagship device the G5 on the eve of this year’s Mobile World Congress to be held in the beautiful city of Barcelona in Spain. What makes things interesting is that another South Korean mobile giant, Samsung, is also planning to formally introduce its own flagship devices, the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge, on the same day LG is to debut its G5 smartphone. The real winners may be Android users everywhere for they will be treated to twice the excitement come February 21st.
