Now that this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2016) has wrapped up, there is no doubt that fans of anything mobile are now looking forward to the next big tech event in the calendar. They will not have to look far because the annual Mobile World Congress (to be held in the beautiful city of Barcelona in Spain) is fast approaching, and it is actually happening on February 22nd to February 25th of this year, about a week earlier compared to last year’s.
Phone makers are surely preparing for this year’s Mobile World Congress, and one of them, LG, has already sent out teaser invites for its event at this upcoming tech conference. And as far as teaser invites go, the South Korean tech giant’s really does teases. Its invitation only shows a picture of a cute jack in the box with the text “play begins” superimposed upon the image. The invitation is certainly meant to be vague, which should increase the excitement factor -- mobile users will now wonder if they should expect a game-centric smartphone or tablet device, or maybe a video or music streaming device.
Basing on LG’s previous track record in past Mobile World Congress events, the company is not averse to officially introducing a premium smartphone or tablet device during or before this yearly tech conference. As a matter of fact, a year ago the South Korean mobile manufacturer announced to the world its G Flex 2 smartphone just before trade show, and a year before that, the company also unveiled its G Pro 2 during an event held at the 2014 Mobile World Congress.
Industry watchers around the world agree that the Mobile World Congress is the largest trade show for mobile devices in the planet. It is no wonder then that virtually all of the biggest players in the industry routinely debut their latest flagship devices during this conference. Having stated that, LG will surely have some competition next month. Samsung, the biggest seller of smartphones in the world right now, is expected to also introduce its latest flagship device, the Galaxy S7. Another mobile giant, HTC, will probably announce its new One M10 handset, too.
As for LG, it has already kept itself busy in the new year, unveiling a couple of new smartphone offerings, the LG K10 and the LG K7, during CES 2016. With yet another new device to unwrap next month, the South Korean mobile giant is certainly making an effort to stay visible and relevant in the eyes of consumers.
