MetroPCS, the prepaid subsidiary of major US wireless carrier T-Mobile, has recently announced a new special offer targeted at families or groups of mobile users looking for a multi-line plan that is easy on the budget. Indeed, customers from other mobile networks who decide to switch to MetroPCS can avail of a couple of lines of service that already come with unlimited voice calls, unlimited text messaging, and 6 gigabytes of LTE data for each line, for only $60 a month. Moreover, customers are free to get additional lines of service for another $30 a month, for each line, for five lines of service at the most.
So how exactly do interested parties avail of this limited time promotional deal? Well, first of all, they will need to port at least one line of service to MetroPCS from a rival mobile network. MetroPCS has chosen to make the deal available to customers who do not prefer to port their number, but instead, they will be only limited to 3 gigabytes of high speed data for each line of service.
For those who avail of this special offer from MetroPCS, they get to keep their $30 pricing for each line of service, as long as they make sure their plans on the prepaid service provider remain active. It should be noted that all of MetroPCS’ pricing already include taxes as well as regulatory fees. This means that aside from plan and handset costs, customers can expect no other hidden fees.
MetroPCS has certainly been busy in the last few months. In November of last year, MetroPCS allowed its customers for the first time to stream music content without worrying about their monthly data allowances getting affected. This was made possible by way of the prepaid wireless carrier’s Music Unlimited. Then in December, MetroPCS rolled out its North America unlimited feature for both Canada and Mexico. Its parent company, T-Mobile, has joined in on the fun too, introducing earlier this month its own four line, $140 a month option that offers 10 gigabytes of fast data for each line of service, while continuing to provide video streaming via its Binge On feature, and other perks through its Mobile Without Borders service.
T-Mobile recently released its quarterly earnings report for the first three months of 2016, and it revealed that MetroPCS managed to register an average revenue per user (ARPU) between $38 to $39. On top of that, the third biggest wireless carrier in the United States also posted a record 807,000 net prepaid customer additions.
