Over the past few years, Mophie has done quite a good job of producing mobile cases that fit right nicely with how Apple designs its best selling iPhone devices. However, as any mobile battery pack user has known, Mophie’s products tend to come with steep prices. But that is about to change because for Mophie’s new batch of mobile battery pack offerings, models are offered at prices that are up to 50 percent cheaper than the company’s current lineup.
Of course, Mophie has retained the stylish aesthetic (in order to be consistent with Apple’s look). But looks notwithstanding, the company had to make some adjustments in how its latest batch was manufactured, so as to lower the production costs. Previous Mophie mobile battery packs came in full metal frames, but this time around, the packs are now only sandwiched between a couple of aluminum plates.
Still, for those users who do not mind the difference in appearance, the pricing change should be very welcome news, and as mentioned earlier, the pricing has gone through some significant changes. The elegantly slender Powerstation Mini (3,000 mAh) now comes with a new price of $30, instead of the old $60 price as the previous model (albeit it bears noting that the predecessor came with 4,000 mAh). As for the 6,000 mAh Powerstation, this battery pack previously was sold for $80, but the new model now comes with a more friendly price of $50.
For other models, the Powerstation XL (10,000 mAh) now has a price of $70, while the Powerstation XXL (20,000 mAh) is now at $100. For users who own Android powered mobile devices that come with USB Type C connectors, they can go for the Powerstation USB C model (10,000 mAh) which fetches for $100.
For those who prefer having a built in cable, the new Powerstation Plus line from Mophie starts at $60 for the version that offers 4,000 mAh. By the way, all of the new Powerstation Plus packs have swappable tips in order for users to switch between micro USB and Apple’s Lightning connector standards. Mophie previously had separate models for each standard, but has wisely decided to offer a swappable functionality. Users who purchased the company’s Charge Force wireless charging cases, know that Mophie also offers a 10,000 mAh Powerstation that has integrated that wireless charging tech, and it has a price of $100.
