Just as Samsung is teasing its upcoming unveiling of its Galaxy Note 5 handset (and possibly a new Galaxy S6 Edge Plus device as well), Motorola has announced a trio of new smartphones -- the Moto G, the Moto X Style, and the Moto X Play. Although these latest smartphone offerings from the American mobile manufacturer come with more enhanced specifications compared to their predecessors, they do come with the same attributes that Motorola fans love -- friendly pricing, customization, and minimum bloatware.
Most users look to Motorola’s Moto G lineup of smartphones when they are searching for affordable phones. This year’s Moto G continues that tradition, and then some. For instance, the latest Moto G handset now comes with waterproofing. On top of that, it is equipped with a 5 inch display screen with 720 pixel resolution, a 13 megapixel camera module (also found on the Google Nexus 6 phablet), a quad core Snapdragon 410 processor, 1 or 2 gigabytes of random access memory (RAM), 8 gigabytes of internal memory, a micro SD slot for storage expansion, and a 2,470 mAh battery. Moto G fans might be delighted to know that the newest Moto G is powered by Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, and comes with a very limited bloatware. Users get treated to features such as Moto Assist, Moto Display, and Moto Actions. The device is being offered with replaceable rear covers, and is prices at $180 (with no carrier subsidy).
As for the two new Moto X devices, they come loaded with new features that should keep hardcore Motorola fans interested. The Moto X Style is Motorola’s latest flagship device, and certainly delivers specs wise. Its 5.7 inch display screen categorizes it as a phablet, and with a whopping 21 megapixel camera, this device should satisfy snapshot happy mobile users. It possesses a six core Snapdragon 808 processor, 3 gigabytes of RAM, up to 64 gigabytes of internal memory, and a 3,000 mAh battery. The Moto X Style is expected to launch in September of this year, with buyers given the opportunity to customize their orders.
The other Moto X device -- the Moto X Play -- is a less expensive take on the Moto X Style device. Its 5.5 inch display screen still makes it a bit competitive with most smartphones today, and it backs it up with a 21 megapixel camera, a 1.6 GigaHertz octa core Snapdragon 615 processor, 2 gigabytes of RAM, and a 3,630 mAh battery. Motorola is set to launch the Moto X Play next month in markets across the European continent, Canada, and the Latin American countries.
