Word on the street is that Motorola has purchased an ad spot during this year's big game, and the likely -- if not only -- conclusion is that the seasoned handset manufacturer will use the opportunity to further tout its flagship phone, the Motorola Droid, as part of the highly anticipated lineup of Superbowl commercials.
According to a source close to the ad campaign, Motorola has purchased at least one Superbowl ad spot. There has been no official confirmation that the spot will be used to further promote the Droid, although barring a surprise new product debut straight out of left field, it would seem the probable conclusion.
The Droid has already been the beneficiary of an estimated $100-million dollar advertising campaign. A $3 million dollar 30-second Superbowl is the only logical next step, right?
Motorola has previously taken to the airwaves with Superbowl spots promoting the PEBL, iconic RAZR, and other phones.
