US Cellular recently joined the list of wireless carriers in the United States that offer Google's flagship device, the Nexus 6.
The Nexus 6 is available from the carrier in Cloud White and Midnight Blue colors. Buyers can get the 32 gigabyte edition of the smartphone for $200 with a two-year contract. Or, they can opt for a retail installment plan, which will require 20 regular payments of $33.
As for the 64 gigabyte version, it can be bought at $250 (with two-year contract). Under the installment plan, buyers will need to pay a monthly fee of $36.50. The full retail price of the device at US Cellular is $660.
The Nexus 6 runs on the latest version of the Android mobile operating system, the Android 5.0 Lollipop. Hardware-wise, the Nexus 6 packs a punch. It has a 2.7 GigaHertz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor and Adreno 420 graphics processing unit (GPU). Photo enthusiasts will no doubt find the phablet's 13-megapixel camera a sure delight. The camera comes equipped with auto high definition resolution (HDR) and can even support 4k video recording. When it comes to battery, the Nexus 6 features one at 3,220 mAh, providing up to 24 hours per quick turbo charge (no more than 15 minutes). The smartphone-tablet hybrid also has dual facing speakers that are perfect for enjoying movies, music, games, and other types of multimedia.
But what really distinguishes the Nexus 6 from other flagship devices is its sheer size. Indeed, the device's 5.9-inch AMOLED display screen can be a lot to handle, but with 2560 by 1400 pixel resolution ultra-sharpness, it may be worth it. It certainly beats other popular devices in screen size generosity -- the iPhone 6 Plus only has 5.5 inches, while the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has 5.7 inches.
And let us not forget that it operates using Android 5.0 Lollipop. The newest version of the Android mobile operating system has been getting good reviews lately. Because of Lollipop's Material Design, Android users (at least those who have updated their Android devices already) get treated to a new and improved interface that combines animations and visually appealing graphic elements with enhanced usability and overall experience.
The Nexus 6 smartphone has certainly taken its time becoming as widely available as possible. The phablet is already available from the four major wireless carriers in the United States, namely AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon Wireless. So it is really good news for Nexus fans that the flagship device gains another seller in US Cellular.
