Today Nokia, the world's largest mobile device manufacturer, officially introduced the N97 Mini and Mural Flip at Nokia World 09 in Germany.
The N97 Mini is a smaller version of the company's flagship smartphone, the N97. The N97, available in the U.S. directly from Nokia and not a specific carrier, features a touchscreen and full QWERTY keyboard. The N97 Mini will offer a shorter battery life, a smaller touch display, and only 8GB of on-board memory instead of the N97's 32GB.
The N97 Mini will also sport improved integration with Facebook, the popular social networking site. The device will integrate Nokia's new Comes With Music feature, a service that will offer users of the handset free music downloads. The N97 Mini will be available in October for €450.
The Mural Flip, a new flip phone reminiscent of Motorola's enduring RAZR, was also introduced today. The Mural Flip will support AT&T's 3G network, and offer external light effects that change color when the device is open or closed or receives an incoming call or message. The Mural Flip, available to AT&T subscribers beginning September 6, will also sport built-in social networking capabilities, a 2-megapixel camera, and support for up to a 16GB microSD card.
Nokia also used the backdrop of Nokia World 09 to launch the X3 and X6. The X6 boasts an impressive 32GB of on-board memory, and will be Nokia's flagship music phone. Both devices will be equipped with Nokia's Comes With Music Service.
