Beginning today, Palm is making its Mojo Software Development Kit open to all interested developers. The kit will allow developers to create applications, games, and other tools for Palm's webOS.
The kit will include all associated documentation as well as access to Mojo Developer Forums, and is available to anybody with a valid email address.
Since its launch six weeks ago, Palm says that the beta version of its App Catalog has seen around 1.8 million application downloads. The company expects many more applications to be available for webOS in the not-so-distant future.
"Thousands of developers have participated in the Mojo SDK early access program since it began in early April. New applications are in the pipeline for the Palm App Catalog, and the App Catalog submission process will be opened to all developers beginning this fall."
The webOS operating system is currently running on the Palm's iPhone rival the Pre, and is expected to grace several more Palm devices in the near future.
