Just in time for this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES), LG is planning to launch a new variant to its V30 flagship offering. This time around, the new version will feature a raspberry rose color. First released in October of last year, the V30 phablet previously was only made available in color options of Aurora Black, Moroccan Blue, Lavender Violet, and Cloud Silver.
LG is quick to highlight the unique aesthetic qualities of the raspberry rose finish. According to the South Korean tech giant, the new variant of the V30 is the first ever LG smartphone to come in raspberry rose color, and quite possibly, also the first in the Android phablet market. Introduced a month before February, it appears that LG is wanting to market this new variant as a cool gift for loved ones on Valentine’s Day.
The raspberry rose variant of the V30 will be released first in LG’s home market, South Korea, presumably soon after the CES 2018 event wraps up. The device should then hit big mobile markets in European as well as Asian regions. It is not clear though when or if the raspberry rose V30 will be launching in the United States. For those not familiar with the LG V30, the phablet features a 6 inch P-OLED screen, a dual camera set up on the rear side (16 megapixel camera + 13 megapixel camera), a 5 megapixel camera on the front side, an eight core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chip set, 4 gigabytes of random access memory (RAM), 64 gigabytes of built in memory, and Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat mobile operating system.
Less than a month ago, it was reported that LG was planning to feature its latest addition to its LG K series of smartphone devices during this year’s CES. The South Korean phone maker had first unveiled its K lineup in the early part of 2016, and in the months since, the company had launched the LG K3 and the LG K4. Held annually, the CES this year is scheduled to kick off on January 9th (with press days on January 7th and January 8th) and last until January 12th. In past years, the show had focused on the latest smartphone products, but recently it has expanded to also highlight smart home appliances. Although some phone makers prefer to wait until the yearly Mobile World Congress event (which happens this year on February 26th until March 1st) to showcase their shiniest new offerings, a few still debut handsets on CES. Most of them though are of the midrange or budget friendly kind.
