It is that time of the year again when holiday special offers are flying here and there. But in the midst of all those Black Friday deals, new player ROK Mobile is quietly announcing a new plan that lets its subscribers enjoy free unlimited service for four months.
Relatively new to the field, ROK Mobile is a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) that leans more on music-related wireless services. The deal it is launching is certainly targeted to music-minded customers who are ready or willing to commit on a year-long subscription to not only unlimited mobile services, but also to the carrier's unlimited music app, all for $399 a year.
Customers who do sign up for this offer will get to enjoy unlimited calls, unlimited text messaging, unlimited data (with 5 gigabytes at LTE speeds), and unlimited music streaming each month for a full year.
More importantly, they will get to save a whopping $200 per year, something which they will not be able to enjoy if they sign up for the same ROK Mobile plan on a monthly basis.
Signing up for ROK Mobile's commitment-free services will cost customers $49.99 every month. But under the yearly payment arrangement, customers will essentially be: 1) enjoying four months of unlimited service completely free of charge, or 2) paying $33 each month for $50 worth of services.
All things considered, ROK Mobile's new plan is certainly not bad. After all, subscribers will enjoy unlimited cell phone use plus data with a rather nice 5 gigabytes LTE allowance.
On top of all that, subscribers also get the ROK Music app, which gives them easy access to more than 20 million songs.
Still, there are some people who may find the idea of paying for one whole year of service a bit too much. That's okay -- ROK Mobile has not fully neglected the subscribers under its $49.99 plan. New subscribers who avail of the plan will also get their first month of service free of charge.
Still not convinced? ROK Mobile is also offering a 7-day trial of its services free of charge to those who apply online. As for its ROK Music app (for both Android and iOS systems), the carrier is also offering a 2-week trial free of charge.
Because ROK Mobile is an MVNO, it is currently using the LTE networks of both T-Mobile and Sprint. Still, it has managed to provide its customers with access to more than 20 million free WiFi hotspots all over the United States.
