Samsung's upcoming smartphone, the Galaxy Note 7, has not yet been released to the public yet it is already making heads turn. Just recently, reports have surfaced online pointing to the Galaxy Note 7 as a smartphone with the highest display quality. Built with a 5.7 inch Quad HD Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2,560 by 1,440 pixels, the Galaxy Note 7 has a screen that tops over other devices in the market. With its curved screen, you can guarantee a seamless viewing experience no matter what angle you are viewing the device from.
It is this precise screen quality that piqued the interest of DisplayMate President, Raymond Soneira. On the report DisplayMate released Tuesday, Soneira gave recognition to the screen of the Galaxy Note 7 and explained why it topped the other options available in the market.
According to the report, a number of standout features were found on the Galaxy Note 7, particularly on its display. Among these features was the fact that the Galaxy Note 7 was able to offer four color modes that its user can choose to control. Comparing this with other smartphones and tablets, this is a huge step up especially since the currently available displays only come with one color mode that cannot be changed at all. Controlling the four color modes of the Galaxy Note 7 can be done through the AMOLED Cinema mode on the device. Once modified, the device gets to display high end 4K video content much like the ones that can be seen on a 4K Ultra HD TV.
Apart from the four color modes, the device managed to meet and even go beyond the expectations for display performance for widest color gamut, or in other words, the range of colors reproduced. In addition to this, the Galaxy Note 7 obtained a high grade for its lowest screen "reflectance," highest contrast ratio, peak brightness, and many other features. According to Soneira, the Galaxy Note 7's display exhibited some improvements in just about every display lab test and measurement as compared to its predecessors -- the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S7.
Soneira adds that the importance of these features on the Galaxy Note 7's display screen makes it “the most innovative and high-performance smartphone display ever tested.” Even though smartphone buyers consider a number of features when choosing a device to buy, they should put the screen quality on the top of their list as this critically determines photo and graphics appearance, text readability, and usability especially in bright sunlight and other conditions. And with the results of the Galaxy Note 7, it is clear that it has obtained some important state of the art display improvements over other smartphone models in the market.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is set to be released on August 19th.
