American users will finally have a chance to own a Samsung Gear S this coming fall. Samsung made the announcement through its Samsung Mobile US Press blog.
Although details about the date as well as pricing and availability have not been made public yet, this very recent development should be good news to those who can not wait to get their hands on Samsung's wearable device. For sure, they will be delighted to know that the Samsung Gear S will be offered by the four major carriers after all.
There is plenty to enjoy about the Samsung Gear S. It has a 2-inch Super AMOLED display that comes with a 480 by 320 resolution. The wearable device is powered by a 1-GigaHertz dual-core processor and features 4 gigabytes of internal storage and 512 megabytes of random access memory (RAM). It is powered by a 300 mAh battery and is IP67 rated for dust and water resistance. Other features include 2G/3G calling and Tizen operating system.
To date, the South Korean mobile manufacturer has already launched numerous Gear smartwatches powered by either Tizen or Android Wear by Google. But among those Samsung wearables, the Gear S has the most generous display screen of them all in terms of size.
On top of that, the Gear S has its own 3G connection which allows users to make calls with the wearable device without having to pair it with a handset. The smartwatch also provides Wi-Fi connectivity, and even supports weather and news reader apps.
